Murdered British radio host laid to rest in Lebanon Posted: 02 Dec 2018 11:47 AM PST British radio presenter Gavin Ford was laid to rest Sunday near Beirut in a ceremony that brought together dozens of fans, friends and family members days after his murder. Ford's lifeless body was discovered Tuesday at his home in Beit Meri, a mountain town east of the capital where his employer Radio One is also based. Pompeo condemns Iran missile test Posted: 01 Dec 2018 08:39 PM PST Amid tension between Washington and Tehran over ballistic missiles, Pompeo warned in a statement released on Twitter that Iran is increasing its "testing and proliferation" of missiles and called on the Islamic Republic to "cease these activities." President Donald Trump pulled out of an international nuclear agreement in May and reimposed sanctions on Tehran, criticizing the deal for not including curbs on Iran's development of ballistic missiles or its support for proxies in Syria, Yemen, Lebanon and Iraq. Iran says its missile program is purely defensive but has threatened to disrupt oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf, if the United States tries to strangle Iranian oil exports. Under-fire Putin briefs Trump over Ukraine as EU leaders up pressure Posted: 01 Dec 2018 05:37 PM PST Russian President Vladimir Putin said he briefed his US counterpart Donald Trump on the Ukraine crisis Saturday as he came under pressure over Moscow's robust foreign policy at the G20 summit in Argentina. Putin said he explained Moscow's position when the leaders met briefly at a summit dinner. Putin strode into the summit on Friday under a cloud, having drawn outrage from Europe over last Sunday's incident in which his navy detained Ukrainian ships and 24 sailors -- causing Trump to abruptly cancel their scheduled meeting.
