Hezbollah says 'very big victory' imminent in south Syria Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:15 PM PDT BEIRUT (Reuters) - The leader of Iran-backed Hezbollah, a key Damascus ally, said on Friday a "very big victory" was near in south Syria, where an army offensive has made rapid gains against insurgents. Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah also denied a statement by a Saudi-led coalition that its forces had killed eight members of Lebanon's Hezbollah in Yemen. While Nasrallah has said his Shi'ite movement has not sent fighters to Yemen, he said "we do not confirm or deny" if Hezbollah has any other kind of presence there. First Trump-Putin summit has Cold War backdrop, U.S. allies nervous Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:23 PM PDT By Doina Chiacu and Andrew Osborn WASHINGTON/MOSCOW (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin will meet for their first summit on July 16 in Helsinki, a venue famed for its Cold War diplomacy. The Kremlin and the White House simultaneously announced the place and date a day after reaching agreement for the two leaders to meet following a visit to Moscow by U.S. national security adviser John Bolton.Trump will meet Putin after attending a July 11-12 summit of NATO leaders and a visit to Britain.
