There are eight Democratic candidates vying for the party's nomination to go up against Mr Walker, the incumbent Republican governor hoping to hold onto his seat. Tony Evers, the state superintendent and the only Democrat in the race to have been elected in a statewide vote, was leading the polls ahead of Tuesday.
