Chrissy Teigen shares moving post about seeing 'Crazy Rich Asians' with her family Posted: 27 Aug 2018 11:12 AM PDT The list of people who are completely obsessed with/deeply moved by Crazy Rich Asians continues to grow, and Chrissy Teigen, John Legend, and their two-year-old daughter Luna are the latest superfans. The family saw the wildly popular film in theaters over the weekend, and afterwards Teigen posted an emotional tribute to the experience on her Instagram account. Teigen shared two photos and a video of Legend and Luna dancing during the film credits, and in the caption she explained how much it meant for her daughter to see Asian representation on screen. "I've been excited to see this since production was announced but I could have never imagined how wonderful it would be," she began. "I planned on seeing it, making a few jokes about how it checked all the boxes for me (CRAZY ☑️ RICH ☑️ ASIAN ☑️) but the feeling I got during the credits, watching John dance with my little black asian mashup baby bear Luna tunes, was a feeling I haven't had at the end of any other movies." A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on Aug 26, 2018 at 3:01pm PDT She shared that when Luna looked up at Constance Wu's mother in the film (played by Kheng Hua Tan), she yelled, "yāy," or, "Grandma" in Thai, "because she saw someone who looked like her yāy." "It was something that simple that made my heart just...warm. That made me happy. It made me happy to see this over the top story done from so many angles, some I could totally understand because of my own confusing Asian American upbringing," Teigen wrote. As our own Angie Han recently wrote, the film marks a modern-day milestone for Asian representation in American pop culture. And for many people like Teigen, the fact that Crazy Rich Asians was the first major studio movie with an all-Asian cast and Asian-American leads in over two decades, made the viewing experience extraordinarily powerful. "You never know how much you miss being represented on screen until you actually see what it's like to be represented. And represented by all different types of characters with all different types of personalities, just like any other great movie," she wrote. Teigen also admitted to "sobbing" during one of the memorable wedding scenes, and, on a lighter note, predicted that "so many people are going to try to recreate the aisle walk and it's going to go terribly wrong and I cannot wait for the videos." also so many people are going to try to recreate the aisle walk and it's going to go terribly wrong and I cannot wait for the videos — christine teigen (@chrissyteigen) August 26, 2018 Bless 2018 movies. The killing of a 20-year-old passenger in the eastern city of Wenzhou is the second such incident since May, denting the image of Didi, which is the world's largest ride-hailing firm by number of rides and is expanding globally. The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) said in a statement on Monday that various government departments will push to improve overall governance of operators and will expand the use of the country's fledgling social credit system across the transport sector.
