Texas Attorney General urges more people to bring guns to church hours after horrific mass shooting Posted: 06 Nov 2017 05:55 AM PST The Attorney General of Texas has urged more people to carry guns to church in the wake of a mass shooting in a Texan church which killed at least 26 people and left around 20 injured. It was the worst massacre at a place of worship in US history and the gravest mass shooting in the modern history of Texas. Ken Paxton, who has been the Attorney General of Texas since January 2015, said the state's concealed-carry law could help Texans faced with mass shooters such as the assailant who unleashed chaos on Sutherland Springs on Sunday. Rene Boucher, 59, was released on bond after being charged with one count of fourth-degree assault causing minor injury, authorities said on Saturday. The Bowling Green Daily News, citing an arrest warrant, said Paul told police his neighbor came on to his property in a gated community just east of Bowling Green and tackled him from behind. Gunman kills at least 26 worshipers at small-town Texas church Posted: 05 Nov 2017 08:54 PM PST By Lisa Maria Garza SUTHERLAND SPRINGS, Texas (Reuters) - A gunman dressed in black tactical gear massacred at least 26 worshipers and wounded 20 others at a white-steepled church in Texas on Sunday, carrying out the latest in a series of mass shootings that have plagued the United States. The lone suspect, also wearing a ballistic vest and carrying a Ruger assault rifle, fired into the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs and kept shooting after he went inside. UK Queen's private estate invested in offshore funds: leaks Posted: 05 Nov 2017 04:45 PM PST Millions of pounds from the private estate of Britain's Queen Elizabeth II have been invested in offshore tax haven funds, a huge new leak of financial documents revealed on Sunday. Around £10 million ($13 million, ⠬11.3 million) of the Queen's private money was placed in funds held in the Cayman Islands and Bermuda, according to the leaked papers, which were first reported in Britain by the BBC and the Guardian newspaper. The investments, which were entirely legal, were made through the Duchy of Lancaster, which provides the monarch with an income and handles investments of her vast estate and remain current, the media outlets said.
