The cargo of bars of concentrated ore used to transport the precious metals weighed 9.3 tonnes. "As it gathered height, the cargo door became damaged due to the shifting of cargo" and "part of the cargo was scattered on the runway," Russia's Investigative Committee said in a statement on Telegram. The U.S. Treasury slapped sanctions on 19 Russian citizens and five entities for election meddling and cyber attacks in the most significant steps the United States has taken against Russia since Trump took office amid U.S. intelligence agency allegations that Moscow tried to help him win the 2016 election. Miami bridge collapse: Desperate effort underway to save victims trapped in rubble Posted: 15 Mar 2018 05:23 PM PDT Emergency response teams are searching for victims buried in the rubble after a pedestrian bridge near Florida International University (FIU) in Miami collapsed. Eight vehicles were trapped when the bridge – still under construction – collapsed on top of them. ‘The sound was thundering’: Florida bridge collapse witnesses describe screams and chaos at scene Posted: 15 Mar 2018 02:30 PM PDT Witnesses of the bridge collapse at Florida International University in Miami have described a cloud of dust being sent into the air alongside a thunderous boom as the newly built, 950-tonne pedestrian structure smashed into the street below, trapping several vehicles. People could be heard screaming from the trapped cars underneath the rubble of the bridge as emergency responders arrived and began to search for survivors. "The sound was thundering," Piqué Philips, who was driving on the fourth floor of a parking garage adjacent to the bridge, told The Independent.
