So it should come as no surprise that we continue to turn our far-flung spacecraft homeward to see what we look like from way out in the solar system. SEE ALSO: Extraterrestrial Oceans Could Host Life A new photo taken by the Cassini spacecraft near Saturn shows Earth as a small speck of light, framed and dwarfed by Saturn's famous rings. "Although far too small to be visible in the image, the part of Earth facing Cassini at the time was the southern Atlantic Ocean," NASA said in a statement. Astronauts who fly to the International Space Station talk about how they spend their precious free time looking down at our home planet. And yes, while the view from the Space Station is incredible, there's also something deeper about our love for it. Living above the Earth can actually shift your perspective of it. Only about 500 people have been to space and afforded this kind of view in person, but photos like the one taken from Saturn are, at least in some way, designed to bring that overview effect down to a wider number of people. This isn't Cassini's first photo of Earth from Saturn. In 2013, the spacecraft snapped an incredible view of our home alongside our moon. Other spacecraft have also taken photos like this from far-off parts of the solar system. Perhaps the most famous of these photos is the "pale blue dot" image taken by Voyager 1 in 1990. That image shows Earth as a tiny fleck on a beam of sunlight from more than 4 billion miles away. The "pale blue dot" image.Image: NASA/JPL-CaltechMission controllers actually turned off Voyager's camera soon after the pale blue dot image was taken, shutting its eye on the solar system as it sped away from us toward interstellar space. The new faraway Earth image is something of a goodbye for Cassini as well. The mission — which launched from Earth in 1997 — is coming to an end in September when it makes a planned dive into Saturn's atmosphere, burning up in the process. Before that happens, however, the spacecraft will navigate between Saturn and its inner-most rings, snapping photos all the way down and giving us a new look at an alien world not all that far from home. Coulter had lashed out at the decision, saying it was an attack on free speech, and had vowed to defy the university and speak at the campus anyway on the scheduled date.

| People still like United Airlines more than Donald Trump Posted: 21 Apr 2017 07:27 AM PDT  Good news for United Airlines: The company could still be president of the United States. A Public Policy Polling poll released on Thursday asked people whether respondents had a higher opinion of United or President Donald Trump — 42 percent said United, compared with just 40 percent who went with the president. If it helps anyone personally affronted by this poll, 18 percent of respondents said they couldn't decide. And, hey, the poll's sample of 648 registered voters has a 3.9 percent margin of error, so maybe Trump is actually more popular than United. Who knows! SEE ALSO: Unsettling video captures United passenger being forcibly removed from overbooked flight United's reputation ran into a blender earlier this month after footage surfaced of a man being dragged off an overbooked flight and allegedly suffering a concussion. The airline then issued a statement derided as callous before its stock prices sunk into the abyss, at which point the CEO said the company was reviewing policies that led to the brutal removal and delivered an actual apology. Still, that company is more popular than the president of the red, white, and blue, a man who has been historically unpopular even as he won last year's election, a man who encouraged sexual assault on video, a man who derided Mexican immigrants as "rapists," and a man whose promises to revamp healthcare have so far yielded little more than embarrassing press conferences. US Capitol Police (USCP) said three adults were arrested near the Capitol and charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, while four were charged with possession. Among those arrested was Adam Eidinger, co-founder of activist group DCMJ aimed at cannabis law reform in the US capital Washington.

President Francois Hollande said he was convinced the shooting on the Champs Elysees boulevard, in which the assailant was himself shot dead by police, was an act of terrorism. Officers searched the home in eastern Paris of the dead attacker.
