China's Xi urges trade cooperation in first meeting with Trump Posted: 07 Apr 2017 11:43 AM PDT By Steve Holland PALM BEACH, Fla. (Reuters) - Chinese President Xi Jinping urged cooperation with the United States on trade and investment on Thursday, inviting President Donald Trump to visit China in a cordial start to their first meeting likely to broach sensitive security and commercial issues. Trump has said he wants to raise concerns about China's trade practices and press Xi to do more to rein in North Korea's nuclear ambitions during his two-day visit to the Spanish-style Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, though no major deals on either issue are expected. The two sides should promote the "healthy development of bilateral trade and investment" and advance talks on a bilateral investment agreement, Xi said, according to a statement on China's Foreign Ministry website. Moscow slams US 'aggression' in Syria, suspends air safety deal Posted: 07 Apr 2017 11:28 AM PDT Moscow slammed the US strike on a Syrian airbase Friday as "aggression against a sovereign state", and suspended a bilateral agreement to help avoid clashes in the skies over the war-torn country. "President Putin considers American strikes on Syria aggression against a sovereign state in violation of international norms, and under an invented pretext," said the statement by the Kremlin press service posted on the official website. US President Donald Trump ordered a military strike on a Syrian air base at 0040GMT, in retaliation for what he said was a "very barbaric attack" Tuesday that is suspected to have contained a nerve agent. Biggest iPhone 8 leak yet offers several surprising new details Posted: 07 Apr 2017 09:57 AM PDT Apple's iPhone 8 is going to bring the massive redesign that fans have been asking for ever since the iPhone 6s came out. The handset is tipped to feature an all-glass front similar to the Galaxy S8. The home button will be gone, but the fingerprint sensor should be embedded in the new OLED screen. The front-facing camera is getting an advanced 3D depth-sensing feature, and the rear camera will have two lenses like the iPhone 7 Plus. Now, a new report from a source with a solid track record may be the most extensive iPhone 8 leak so far.
Obtained from Asia and posted initially on Weibo by a leaker that goes by the name KK, new drawings of the iPhone 8 may offer some interesting details about the phone's design, assuming they're based on Apple's actual plans. The drawings are said to have been made by a Foxconn worker who has seen Apple's plans for the phone. There's no home button on the front side, and there's no standalone fingerprint sensor anywhere on the back. This seems to imply the Touch ID sensor will be embedded in the screen, as has been rumored several times in the past, since the feature is critical to various iPhone features. On the front, there appears to be a dual camera setup, but one of those large openings will probably house the 3D sensor. These sensors would not be visible to the user. In fact, the report notes that there won't be any openings on the front side, suggesting that Apple may place all the front-facing sensors behind the screen. We already know that Apple has patents on this type of technology. Another interesting design element sits on the back, a dual camera that's positioned vertically rather than horizontally, like it is on the iPhone 7 Plus. An unconfirmed rumor made reference to this design possibility for the iPhone 8 a short while ago, but many Apple fans hoped it was false because it's definitely an eyesore. The Weibo post mentions that the iPhone 8's camera experience will be one of the highlights of the phone, complete with augmented reality features and 3D support. Other notable features concern the antennas, which appear in the four corners of the phone, but they don't seem to be as annoying as the antenna lines we've grown to hate. In fact, it appears the phone's antennas are similar to the iPhone 4 and 4S's antenna setup since the phone will feature a glass back like those old models. The curvature of the iPhone 8's metal frame is supposedly going to be similar to the Apple Watch, the leaker says. All the other physical buttons seem to be in place, but the power button is elongated for some reason. The SIM tray is also still in the picture, and there's a Lightning port on the bottom with no 3.5mm audio jack to accompany it.
