Macron looks on awkwardly as Donald Trump attacks Nato members after moment of silence for ManchesterGiven that he was reprimanding them and demanding they pay more towards Nato's costs, it was perhaps not surprising European leaders gathered in Brussels did not appear delighted by Donald Trump's rebuke. Indeed, as the US President drew attention to a situation he said he was unfair to American tax-payers - and also declined to explicitly endorse its mutual defence agreement, the so-called Article 5 commitment - leaders such as Germany's Angela and French President Emmanuel Macron looked on in awkward silence. At one point, Mr Macron appeared to grimace.

Lack of new launches leaves Ford playing catchup with GM

Posted: 25 May 2017 09:35 AM PDT

Lack of new launches leaves Ford playing catchup with GMBy Paul Lienert DETROIT (Reuters) - James Hackett spent the last year plotting Ford Motor Co's long-term self-driving car strategy. In his first week as chief executive, he has more immediate concerns: stopping a skid in North American sales and fending off a market share grab by resurgent archrival General Motors Co. The U.S. No. 2 automaker is stuck in a product drought that shows no signs of easing until 2019, according to two sources who track Detroit's launch plans. Given the auto industry's long product cycles, it is not clear what Hackett can do immediately to get Ford out of its predicament, which can be traced back to decisions by former CEOs.

Gulf rift reopens as Qatar decries hacked comments by emirBy William Maclean DUBAI (Reuters) - Qatar got into a war of words with some Gulf Arab allies on Wednesday after it said hackers had posted fake remarks by its emir against U.S. foreign policy, but their state-run media reported the comments anyway. We will continue to further develop our missile capabilities forcefully," Fars quoted Amirali Hajizadeh, head of the Guard's airspace division, as saying.
