Four lions escape from S.Africa's Kruger Park Posted: 10 Jul 2017 01:43 PM PDT Four male lions escaped over the weekend fromm South Africa's famed Kruger National Park, officials said Monday, two months after five others slipped out. Park management said in a statement that the majestic predators were believed to have sneaked out on Sunday night, and that they had been spotted in a nearby village. Palestinian tries to run down, stab Israeli soldiers, shot dead: army Posted: 10 Jul 2017 12:07 PM PDT A Palestinian driver who tried on Monday to run down and then stab Israeli soldiers near a settlement in the occupied West Bank was shot dead by the troops, the Israeli military said. A wave of Palestinian street attacks that began in 2015 has slowed but has not stopped. Israel says at least 173 of those killed were carrying out attacks while others died in clashes and protests. Trump says discussed forming cyber security unit with Putin Posted: 09 Jul 2017 04:52 PM PDT (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Twitter on Sunday that he discussed forming a cyber security unit to guard against election hacking with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tweeting after his first meeting with Putin on Friday, Trump said now was the time to work constructively with Moscow, pointing to a ceasefire deal in southwest Syria that came into effect on Sunday. "Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded and safe," he said following their talks at the G20 summit in Hamburg, Germany. Jihadists battle Libya forces in 'liberated' Benghazi Posted: 09 Jul 2017 03:21 PM PDT Jihadists are still battling Libyan forces in Benghazi days after strongman Khalifa Haftar and his self-styled army declared victory in the eastern city, his forces said Sunday. Colonel Miloud Zwei, spokesman for Haftar's Libyan National Army, said the fighting persisted in the district of Soug al-Jarid, located between the central neighbourhoods of Soug al-Hout and Al-Sabri, the jihadists' last strongholds. Zwei said 20 LNA soldiers have been killed by "terrorists" who had been hiding in houses since Haftar on Wednesday announced the "total liberation" of Benghazi.
