Donald Trump hovers over Melania during a speech as only Trump can Posted: 27 Jul 2017 02:34 PM PDT First Lady Melania Trump joined her husband at a rally in Youngstown, Ohio, on Tuesday, and proceeded to be watched like she was a bad kid who might do something wrong at any moment. As Melania took the podium to praise her husband for winning the election, Donald Trump stood a little too close for comfort, practically breathing down her neck. The USA Association, a clearly pro-Trump "Conservative GrassRoots Organization with a Cause," tweeted a video of the speech. We can practically feel Trump's hot breath enveloping Melania just by watching this video. SEE ALSO: Donald and Melania Trump's most uncomfortable moments: A journey "As president, my husband will continue to fight each and every day to ensure our security, defend our livelihoods, and rebuild the foundations of fortune that have made the United States the land of opportunity," Melania said during her speech, probably smelling his breath as he inched even closer. "Washington has fought him every step of the way, but I know my husband and he will never give up." Then with an awkward couple of kisses and an embrace, Trump ushers Melania away from the podium because now it's finally his turn to talk. Trump has a lot to learn, not only about the nuances of the presidency, but also, apparently, personal space. Modi boosts grip on power with alliance in scandal-hit India state Posted: 27 Jul 2017 01:39 PM PDT A former arch-rival of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi aligned with the Hindu nationalist leader on Thursday to form a new government in Bihar, one of the country's most populous states. The outspoken Nitish Kumar took the oath as Bihar's chief minister just hours after standing down in protest at corruption allegations against his last coalition partner. The link up between Kumar's Janata Dal United party and the prime minister's right-wing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) further tightens Modi's grip on power ahead of national elections in 2019. "Being transgender doesn't affect anyone else," she told Business Insider. Ms Beck, 51, said the President's abrupt change in policy could negatively affect many currently or wanting to serve in the military. Senate aims for a 'skinny' Obamacare repeal as other options fail Posted: 26 Jul 2017 07:14 PM PDT By Susan Cornwell and Yasmeen Abutaleb WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republican U.S. Senate leaders, struggling to keep a seven-year-old promise to end Obamacare, turned their focus on Wednesday to passing a slimmed-down "skinny" repeal measure that would throw the issue into negotiations with the House of Representatives. The last-ditch effort came as senators voted 45-55 against a straight repeal of Obamacare, which provided for a two-year delay in implementation to give Congress time to work out a replacement. Seven Republicans opposed the measure. This posting includes an audio/video/photo media file: Download Now |

Bundy follower gets 68 years for role in armed Nevada standoff Posted: 26 Jul 2017 04:05 PM PDT One of two men convicted in the first of several trials stemming from a 2014 standoff led by renegade rancher Cliven Bundy against federal authorities in Nevada was sentenced on Wednesday to 68 years in prison for his role in the armed confrontation. Gregory Burleson, 53, of Phoenix, was found guilty in April of eight felony counts, including charges of threatening and assaulting federal officers, obstruction of justice, interstate travel in aid of extortion and firearms offenses related to a crime of violence. The uprising at Bundy's ranch near Bunkerville, Nevada, 75 miles (120 km) northeast of Las Vegas, grew out of a dispute in which federal agents seized Bundy's cattle over his refusal to pay fees required for grazing his livestock on government land. What Donald Trump’s ban on transgender people serving in US military actually means Posted: 26 Jul 2017 03:12 PM PDT Donald Trump's tweets about banning transgender people from the army could be far more extreme even than they appear. The President said that the US will not "accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the US Military", in a tweet. The posts certainly confirm that the President will seek to uphold the ban on transgender people joining the US military, a ban that is currently in place.
