The program, which will encourage consumers buying replacement tires to choose low rolling resistance tires, which cost more initially than those with more friction but increase fuel economy and save money on gasoline. ... |

Dream on Me recalls playpens because of strangulation hazard Posted: 09 Dec 2014 07:21 AM PST WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Baby products company Dream On Me is recalling about 10,000 Incredible playpens because their rails can collapse and become a strangulation hazard for children, the Consumer Product Safety Commission said on Tuesday. The South Plainfield, New Jersey, company is recalling two-level deluxe adjustable height playpens with model numbers starting with 436A, 436B, 436G, 436O, 436P and 436R, the commission said in a statement. (Reuters) - A Georgia man due to be executed on Tuesday for the 1995 murder of a sheriff's deputy is mentally disabled and received inadequate representation from a lawyer who drank heavily at the time of his trial, the death row inmate's current attorneys said. New York police shoot, kill man who stabbed person in synagogue Posted: 09 Dec 2014 04:35 AM PST (Reuters) - New York police shot and killed a man on early Tuesday who had stabbed a person in the head inside of a Brooklyn synagogue, police said. Police responded to the scene around 1:40 a.m. ET and found the 49-year-old suspect with knife in hand, the New York Police Department said in a statement, giving the address as 770 Eastern Parkway, the world headquarters of the Chabad-Lubavitch movement. Carter Cervantez, 25, and her boyfriend Clarence "David" Mallory, 19, have been charged with capital murder in the Nov. 28 death of Ashlea Harris, 31, police said.
